Clark County Fire Department Rural Division

Bunkerville Station 71

Bunkerville Station 71 Overview

Bunkerville Station 71 is a volunteer fire station under the Clark County Fire Department’s Rural Division, located at 200 West Virgin Street, Bunkerville, NV 89007.

The station is staffed by a dedicated team of volunteer firefighters who provide fire protection and emergency medical services to the Bunkerville community and its surroundings.

The Bunkerville Volunteer Fire Department comprises 13 members trained to respond to various emergencies, including wildland fires and medical incidents. Their equipment includes a Type 1 Engine, a Type 6 Quick Attack Engine, an Advanced Life Support (ALS) Rescue unit, and a Basic Life Support (BLS) Rescue unit.

Bunkerville is situated along the Virgin River in eastern Clark County, approximately five miles west of the Arizona border and one mile south of Interstate 15. The community is characterized by a clear demarcation between residential areas and wildland fuels, with most homes built using fire-resistant materials and maintaining adequate defensible space. Access to the area is primarily via State Route 170 (Riverside Road), a paved two-lane road.

The Clark County Fire Department actively recruits volunteer firefighters for its rural stations, including Station 71. Prospective volunteers must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, a valid Class C Nevada Driver’s License, and certifications in CPR, AED, and EMT (Basic, Advanced, or Paramedic). Desirable certifications include Nevada Class B with F endorsement driver’s license, Firefighter 1 (IFSAC), Hazardous Materials Awareness (IFSAC), and Hazardous Materials Operations (IFSAC).
