Clark County Fire Department Rural Division
Cold Creek Station 82
Cold Creek Station 82 Overview
Cold Creek Station 82 is a volunteer fire station within the Clark County Fire Department’s Rural Division, located at 1 Ski Lodge Road, Cold Creek, NV 89166.
The station is staffed by volunteer firefighters who provide fire protection, emergency medical response, and rescue services for the Cold Creek community and surrounding areas on the eastern slopes of the Spring Mountains.
Station 82 maintains a fleet of emergency response apparatus configured for remote, high-elevation terrain and longer response distances. Assigned equipment typically includes Engine 82 for structural and wildland firefighting, Water Tender 82 for supplemental water supply in areas without hydrants, and Rescue 82 for medical and rescue operations.
Cold Creek Station 82 serves a geographically isolated community characterized by mountainous terrain, forested wildland fuels, narrow access roads, and seasonal weather impacts such as snow, ice, and high winds. The station plays a critical role in protecting permanent residents, recreational visitors, and natural resources in an area where response times can be extended due to terrain and distance.
The Clark County Fire Department actively recruits volunteer firefighters for its rural stations, including Station 82. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED equivalent, a valid Nevada driver’s license, and certifications in CPR/AED and EMT (Basic, Advanced, or Paramedic). Additional qualifications such as Firefighter I and Hazardous Materials certifications are desirable.
